Schedule & Compensation
- Days: Full-Time (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) – Enjoy a predictable, 4-day work week!
- Hours: Drivers start their day between 6:30 AM–8:30 AM and finish between 4:30 PM–6:30 PM. This job averages 9-10 hour days.
- Location: Grimes, IA
- Compensation: $16.00 per hour (This rate is standardized and non-negotiable)

As an essential part of our team, the Wheelchair Van Driver provides safe, professional, and compassionate non-emergency transportation for elderly, disabled, and temporarily injured individuals. This role is about more than driving—it’s about providing peace of mind and dignified transportation.
You will operate an assigned vehicle based on a daily schedule, communicating regularly with our dispatcher to manage changes. As this is essential personnel, reliability is critical, including availability to work throughout various weather conditions.
What Your Experience Brings (Essential Duties):

- Prioritizing Safety: Adhering strictly to all rules and regulations for transporting passengers, using sound judgment in all actions.
- Dignified Assistance: Providing respectful assistance, including safely pushing and pulling persons using a manual wheelchair (up to approximately 300 lbs) as needed.
- Professional Rapport: Maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers, medical personnel, and facility/hospital staff.
- Vehicle Oversight: Conducting daily vehicle checks, maintaining a clean interior, and reporting any necessary issues or concerns.
- Operational Excellence: Handling emergency situations calmly and effectively, maintaining required reports, and always presenting a professional appearance.
Requirements (Leveraging Your Reliability):
- Experience Preferred: We seek dependable candidates who demonstrate compassion, thoughtfulness, and rock-solid reliability.
- Licensing: Must have (or be able to obtain) a current Class D Chauffeur’s License.
- Compliance: Ability to pass mandatory drug testing and an extensive background check. Must present an acceptable driving record to meet insurance standards.
- Physical Ability: Must be physically able to perform the job duties, including assisting passengers.
- Communication: Must be proficient in English.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 25 years old.
