Operations Coordinator II (Dispatcher)

FLSA Status: Non – Exempt
Work Location: In-Office
Salary Range: $40-47K/DOE

Position Description
The Operations Coordinator II is a key member of the operations team, responsible for coordinating the transportation needs of our clients while building relationships with both internal and external customers. This position requires a strong level of skill and comfort with multiple phone lines, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, new software, and ability to interact with individuals with special needs via telephone.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties for this position are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive:

• Shares dispatcher responsibilities for scheduling and routing trips with other operations members.
• Share responsibilities for efficiently and effectively receiving, scheduling, confirming and managing trips with other operations members.
• Professionally and successfully handle multiple phone lines.
• Proactively build relationships with clients, including those who are elderly and intellectually disabled, as well as their service team members.
• Cultivate relationships with drivers to ensure issues are resolved effectively and our clients’ expectations are exceeded.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while remaining organized and exceeding established goals and objectives.
• Create and maintain office documents using Microsoft Office.
• General office duties include filing, data entry, and everyday office maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of customer service experience.
• Experience in the field of, or involved in Logistics or Transportation preferred.
• Must be detail oriented and possess effective time management skills.
• Must be able to apply logic and deductive reasoning when making decisions.
• Strong problem solving skills and capacity to handle pressure situations.
• Must be able to learn, champion and promote confidence when implementing new company ideas and computer software.
• Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and possess good judgment.

• Must be a self-starter and highly motivated.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and customer service skills required.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software
• Ability to work in a small office environment, adapting to a variety of situations.
• Must be able to answer after-hours customer/dispatch phone calls when scheduled.
• Knowledge of the Greater Des Moines geographic area
• Must successfully pass DMV and background checks to be approved for company insurance coverage to drive company vehicles when required.

ABOUT THE JOB
Typical work schedule: Monday-Friday; typically, 8AM – 5PM; may be modified depending on service demand
Must be able to share phone coverage responsibilities on some holidays
Compensation and benefits will be discussed during the interview
